12 year old Yemen girl died after giving birth to her first and only child. The child, was married off to her “husband”, at age 11, where practice of sex took place right after in hope to give the husband a male heir. The husband, who is a farmer, did received what he wished for, however, at the price of his then 12 year old wife.

When giving birth to a boy, she began having internal bleeding, which the doctors couldn’t prevent, and eventually died. The child, did not survive either.

Yemen, is a country where there certainly is allowed to marry children, with the government stating that most are married off at age 15, and in most situation can have 5 children before age 20.
